1. Is acupuncture painful?

No, but that is not to say that you will feel nothing. The insertion of the needle sometimes will be felt like a pinch. The area of insertion may feel tingling, heavy, pressure, itch, numbness and radiating sensation. They are possiive sensation called deqi  (energetic sensation a practitioner and patient feel when reaching correct placement of an acupuncture needle).

2. How do I know the needles are clean?

All needles used are single-use, individually wrapped, sterile filament needles. They are FDA approved.

3. How does acupuncture work?

Acupuncture is one of the components in the system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In the TCM system of medicine, human are part of university.  Universe is a whole; everything starts with two oppsites: yin and yang. They interact and inerchange. Externally we interact with not only other lives, society but also environment surrounds us (such as weather). Internally our body interact between viscera and organs.The balance or harmony is essential in achieveing body health. This imbalance can lead to blockage in the flow of qi (vital energy) along pathways known as channels and meridians. Acupuncture treatment can open the blockage, re-establish the balance in the body.

4. Do I need to prepare in any way before receiving acupuncture?

Your initial treatment will be preceded filling out forms, a consultation and etc. It may take up to 1-1/2 hours. Follow up treatments will be around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Do not eat a heavy meal before treatment, and abstain from alcohol.

5. What can I expect after treatment?

You may note a spot of blood, bruising or redness at one or more of the needle sites. There may be a slight soreness or itchiness. In any event, you should be able to resume your normal activities afterwards.

6. Can I continue taking my regular medication while receiving

treatment?

Yes. You can continue taking your medication while receiving acupuncture.​

7. Can acupuncture help senior citizens?

Although acupuncture can benefit people of all ages, the elderly typically suffer from a variety of conditions and ailments that are particularly amenable to acupuncture treatment. These include high blood pressure, joint pain, and weakened immune systems.

8. How long will it take for me to see improvement?

Duration, severity, and type of the condition should be considered for the improvement.Your recovery time also depend on how often you receive treatment and how actively you participate in your self-care along with the treatments. Lifestyle is largely responsible for one's state of health in Traditional Chinese Medicine. You may be asked to do medical excerise, modify your diet, and etc. The changes you make in lifestyle are significant parts on your level of well-being.
